Dua Lipa and Versace Collaboration is Here
Dua Lipa x Versace collection has finally arrived. La Vacanza is an homage to the summer Italian holiday, with 40 looks showcasing the blend of Versace’s core designs with touches of the pop star’s persona. “It’s not just that Dua is super-famous – she knows about clothes,” Donatella Versace said of the collection. “She is a young woman who wears things in a contemporary way – and that’s an important thing for an established [brand] like us to realize.”
In the current Barbiecore state, many of the garments included soft pink suits, cut-out dresses emblazoned with the Versace Medusa head, and gold adornments. Other garments included swimsuits, metallic twin sets, mini dresses, and polka dot ensembles, taking inspiration from the ‘90s. The collection also featured menswear, presented against a Cannes backdrop. It is available for purchase online and in-store.
Tina Turner Dies at 83
The Queen of Rock’n’Roll, Tina Turner, has died at 83. The superstar singer, whose career launched in the ‘50s, created endless hits over the decades, such as Simply the Best, Proud Mary, River Deep Mountain High, and many others. Aside from her musical talents, she was also a muse for several fashion designers.
Most famously, she worked with Bob Mackie to create sparkling, stage-worthy gowns and dresses for performances. She was also a muse for Azzedine Alaïa, who designed endless garments in her honor. “You don’t get a Tina Turner very often who knows exactly how they want to look and how they want to move,” said Mackie. “Sometimes you have to kind of inspire them to do it, but I never had to inspire Tina Turner. She came already equipped.”
Margot Robbie is a Barbie for Vogue
In anticipation of the release of the Barbie Movie, Margot Robbie fronts the June cover of Vogue Magazine. Styled by Gabriella Karefa-Johnson and shot by Ethan James Green, the Aussie actress leans into her doll persona with garments only worn by Ms. Barbara Millicent Roberts herself. She dons a pink Versace dress on the cover and throughout wears Margiela, Valentino Haute Couture, Proenza Schouler, and many others.&
In the shoot, Margot is seen as every type of Barbie possible. From stepping off her doll stand to becoming a cowgirl and an astronaut, there’s nothing Barbie can’t do. She also dons a Chanel tweed gown as she runs for president and takes important business calls in an oversized ‘80s-inspired suit from Saint Laurent.
