Oftentimes, you can clock me click-clacking across town in 3-inch heels or ramping up my look with a bodycon dress. Even if it means I have a slight limp by day’s end or struggle sitting down, I consider these necessary sacrifices to achieve a head-turning, confidence-boosting look. However, I’ve never stood behind wearing tight, itchy bras with stabbing underwire and falling straps in favor of a little extra support, which is why I’ve always avoided wearing one if I can help it.
Lucky for me, our InStyle editors are meticulous in their efforts to find the most comfortable bras and are relentless when it comes to weeding out the ineffective wannabes. We’ve hunted down picks for asymmetrical and wide-set breasts, tested strapless bras for small and large chests, and performed somersaults in activewear options. Trust us, we don’t let just any beige-colored bra onto our lists, and whether it’s wireless, unlined, or push-up, we always consider comfort a number one priority before recommending the very best ones. Shop Cyber Monday deals on the bras that lived up to our strict standards, and truly gave our girls the support they deserve, while feeling like we were wearing absolutely nothing at all.

Wacoal Basic Beauty Spacer Underwire T-Shirt Bra
How often do you find a bra that feels like a cozy hug against your chest and carries your girls with confidence? During our three weeks of testing, the Wacoal Underwire T-Shirt Bra, we felt nestled in and secure under its layers of plush, velvety fabric, which despite providing plenty of coverage, never revealed its cuplines under thinner clothing. In fact, this bra is still a bit of a mystery to us because it somehow managed to have an ultra-supportive wide band that held up larger breasts but never squeezed our ribcage with a boa constrictor-like grasp. What’s more, the bra’s thick, sturdy straps gave our chest an additional lift and didn’t stray from on our shoulders, even as we hauled carry-on luggage across the airport while traveling.
Spanx Bra-llelujah! Lightly Lined Wireless Bra
In bygone days, we likened wired bras to the tight Victorian corsets women squeezed themselves into, but thankfully Spanx entered the chat with a much less barbarian option. Innovative as ever, the brand removed the underwire altogether and cupped our girls with light padding, a wide band, and thick stretchy straps that prevented spillage and gave them a little perk. Throughout our month of testing it, we frequently marveled over the bra’s seamless design, which had a flattering smoothing effect similar to the brand’s editor-adored and celebrity-worn shapewear. Additionally, the front closure design made it oh-so-easy to throw on during busy mornings, eliminating the awkward, and time-consuming, twisting and flailing fingers required to close back clasps.
Brooks Zip 2.0 Sports Bra
One editor says she wouldn’t have been able to get through her breast implant surgery without this bra recommended by her plastic surgeon. (It’s essential to have a soft and unrestrictive bra for the first two months post-op.) Three days after surgery, she could switch out of her surgical bra for this one, thanks to its soft material, molded cups, seamless design, and easy on and off zip-front closure with J-hooks for reinforcement. Although she was expecting at least a little bit of skin irritation at the incision areas, it never happened then or ever. The fit was so good that it felt like “a delicate hug.”
